The Renewable Energy 401(k): Freedom to Choose Campaign
“With Colorado leading the way,
soon every American with a 401(k) plan will have the
freedom
to invest in Renewable Energy”
- The
Freedom to Choose Campaign is in dialogue with the Colorado Financial Services and Human Resources sectors to
encourage the addition of a renewable energy fund to every 401(k) plan in the
state
This will provide 500,000 Coloradans the freedom to invest in clean energy
production, create thousands of new Colorado jobs, lower the cost of energy and
help ensure a healthy and prosperous future for Colorado’s agricultural
community, ski industry and our families
- Next
federal legislation will significantly increase clean energy production by
allowing 50 million Americans the opportunity to invest in renewable energy
The American Renewable Energy: Freedom to Choose
Act will:
- Create a
remarkable $100 Billion in new Renewable Energy investment
– that’s a 5 times increase over the 2007 total of just $19 billion
- Allow all
of
America’s newly generated electricity, the
20,000 MW added to the grid each year, to be generated from renewable sources by
2014
- Create
500,000 new clean energy jobs in Wind, Solar and Geothermal over the next 3
years
- 20,000 of these new Renewable
Energy jobs will be in Colorado, a world leader in Renewable Energy design, manufacturing and clean energy
production/span>
